Alert when embedded content is broken

I’d like to be alerted when a media file is offline that was embedded into a text field by URL. Currently, when an image from an external source is unreachable, the visitor sees a broken image icon but the admin is not informed about the issue, so chances are small that the issue is discovered by the admin and can be resolved in due time.
