Hi voicetoons,
Thank you for reaching out!
Please check the following setting in your WordPress dashboard:
- Navigate to LearnPress > Settings > Courses.
- Look for the field “Upload Files” (under the Material Settings).
- Check the value set in this field.
If the value is currently set to 0 (zero), it essentially prevents the uploading and display of materials, which could be causing the “Downloadable Materials is not allowed!” status you might be seeing internally.
Solution: Please change the value in the “Upload Files” setting to a number greater than 0 (e.g., 5 or 10) and save your changes.
If this setting is already greater than 0, or if changing it does not restore your materials, please let us know! We will provide you with further troubleshooting steps.
Best regards,

Thanks for the quick reply Brianvu. For some reason when we updated the plugin when an update was available, it turned off the upload materials in settings/courses. We re-clicked the allow uploads and set it to 20 papers (files) and it still did not replace the past papers to each lesson.
Does this nean we must open every lesson again, and readd the paper for each lesson? What a pain if so. How can we assure this does not happen on every update in the future? This is very odd… Thoughts?
Hi voicetoons,
Thank you for the quick follow-up.
We agree this behavior is very odd and should not occur during a standard update. Updates are designed to maintain existing database settings.
To help us investigate this issue and prevent it from happening again, could you please provide us with one crucial piece of information.
What was the previous version of LearnPress you were updating from when this issue occurred?
We look forward to your response so we can get to the bottom of this!
Best regards,
