Settings >> Permalinks
permalink seems ok but
Settings >> Writing >> Default Post Category shows a small checkbox , like halved, shows nothing, no yes, no true/false, no options at all,
Posts >> Categories
Are they all there? Do you have some sort of conflicting SEO plugin that alters the categories?
Yes the categories are all there I did not install any new plugin
I try to go to php my admin but it gives me this error
“phpMyAdmin – Error

I also get this error when I try to update a plugin, maybe both issues are connected?

if I install a fresh copy of wordpress, the what do I have to do to get back all my posts and categories? which folder do I need to replace from the backup?
