Just to make sure I updated again after a restoring a backup.

Same result – completly broken – no sidebars – no way to create one – all widgets moved to inactive!

    Hi @francoisthai,

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

Could you please tell me which Custom Sidebars plugin version you are using?

    Have you switched the theme?

If you have switched the theme then the sidebars not supported in activated theme will move to “Inactive Sidebar”.

To create new sidebar don’t you get the “Create a new sidebar” button as displayed in the following screenshot?

Have you manually or automatically updated the plugin?

    Kind Regards,

    my issue exactly.

I posted a screenshot on my topic: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/no-custom-sidebars-but-plug-in-active?replies=3

    Thank you for your reply,

    I have version 2.0.9 installed.

The theme is the same, did not change. It is a custom theme.

    The sidebars go to inactive.

BUT there is no “Create a new sidebar” button.

I tried both the automatic and manual updates – same result.

I do have cache plugins installed – this was not an issue with the last update…

    Greetings,

After a few tests I found what was the problem.

It was simply a caching plugin that overtime has become incompatible with Custom Sidebars.

The only “strange” thing is that now all the sidebars appear in only one column. And at first not all of them show up – only after closing the Main Sidebar in Theme Sidebar do they all come up in a very long column.

    Hi @francoisthai,

we are trying to reproduce the issue you are describing but could not yet find the issue… However, the point that there is no “Create a new sidebar” button on your widgets page possibly is caused by a javascript error.

Can you check your browsers error console and let us know if there is an error when you load the widgets page?
You can open the console in most browsers by pressing F12 (on Windows) or Cmd+Alt+I (on Mac).

Sorry again for the inconvenience and a big thanks to you for all your feedbacks on the issue!

    Hello,

Have the same problem my sidebars are gone I try to deactivate a few plugin that maybe I thought it was the problem but not :-(. I think is because I updated yesterday by WordPress I think it was wrong to do it. worked perfectly yesterday and It has been working perfect the last 2 months, What happened?

    Please help

    Cissi

    Hey guys!

good news: We have finally found the problem and did publish an update right now. You are able to update to 2.0.9.4 and see all your sidebars again!

Due to unpredictable loading-order of plugins the Custom Sidebars plugin was somehow initialized too late and thus was not loaded fully…

In case you have any issues with this please let us know! Otherwise we hope you have fun with the plugin 🙂

Works now for me – thank you.

I posted in another thread but try here as you ask re other issues.

I did the update but now I cannot add a new sidebar as the window it opens is hidden underneath another panel.

I have checked this on 4 comps in two countries so i dont think it is local to my machine.

I will post a screenshot on another site and link to it here.

Oddly enough it works just fine on my ipad so the problem is not urgent as i can add there.

    Hi,

I can see my sidebars now too thanks, but is true I cant`t either create new sidebars, I see this window ” new custom sidebar” behind of the panel 🙁 if you understand what I mean.

    Hi there,

Regarding the custom sidebar screen overlapping issue we have provided the solution to fix it in the following thread which will be added in the plugin soon and released the updated plugin version shortly.
