Im getting an error “Unable to accurately detect IPs Type: IP Detection”

Details: Wordfence was unable to validate a test request to your website. This can happen if your website is behind a proxy that does not use one of the standard ways to convey the IP of the request or it is unreachable publicly. IP blocking and live traffic information may not be accurate.

To resolve the issues, I have gone ahead to the dashboard>Global options>general wordfence options>How does Wordfence get IPs. I have tried all the options but none of the detected IPs match my own IP address. The error is still there. What else do I need to do to help resolve this?

    Hi @regvdfregv,

If the visitor IP is present but being sent comma-separated with a proxy or other address, you can allow for this by clicking on the text link “+Edit trusted proxies” and add the IP that isn’t yours to exclude it from detection. You can double-check if this is the case in your Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page and looking for how the table values for “IP Detection” are showing up.

In some cases, if no valid user IP is being seen at all as part of any of the options, we may need you to contact your host/administrator to request that visitor IPs are passed on to the site using any one of the REMOTE_ADDR, CF-Connecting-IP, X-Real-IP, or X-Forwarded-For values.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
