all update notifications are missing

WordPress Dashboard does not show any update notifications for themes or updates. That problem is since I went from wampserver localhost to live. Is that a database related issue? What can I do to fix it? Basic checks and solutions such as disabling all plugins did not make it work. Totally stuck here as I haven’t been able to find any answer on this.
