    Hello,

Is there a way to allow user with the Editor user role to access the settings of the plugin? Specifically I want to allow them to see the email logs.

    Thank you

    Hello @mrmocha,

Currently, the capability to delegate access to FluentSMTP settings or specifically the email logs to users with the ‘Editor’ role is not available within the plugin.

However, I can certainly take this case as a feature request! We genuinely appreciate user feedback like yours, as it helps us understand the evolving needs of our community and shape the future development of FluentSMTP.

To help me forward this request to our development team with the best possible context, could you please share a bit more detail on how you envision this functionality? For instance, would you want them to see all email logs, or perhaps only logs related to specific senders? Would they need any other access within the FluentSMTP settings, or just the logs? Any additional information on your ideal implementation would be incredibly helpful for our team to look into this thoroughly.

Thank you again for your valuable input.

    Hello, @ibrahimsharif

Good idea. I suggest granting the Editor role access to the email logs, but in read-only mode. Since we use multiple connections, the ideal solution would be the ability to set access permissions individually for each SMTP server configuration.

For example, for the “Orders” SMTP server, the Editor should be able to view the email logs to handle customer inquiries, while other connections would remain hidden. The plugin settings and sensitive configuration data must remain accessible strictly to the Administrator.

The goal is to allow the Editor to independently verify the delivery of operational emails without having access to the global system configuration.

Thank you @ambri – perfect description of how I’d like to see it function. Allowing access only to the emails themselves to be able to check what was sent, to who and when. Nothing else needed.

    +1
