allow empty comments = insert a poll to every comment?

    I want to allow the users of my wp site (a review site with rating-plugin) to leave empty comments (they must give a 1-5 star rating though).

    I understood this is quite complex to fix.
    So I was thinking: maybe adding a simple poll (like: recommend this item yes/no?) to every comment can fix it… so that the poll vote will be the ‘comment’ and people can choose to keep it like that and not fill in an actual comment.

    What do you think?
    Is this a good idea?
    Which plugin should I use?
