Allow users to update custom fields?

    Here is what I am trying to do:
    A registered user clicks on an image and they are presented with a larger image under which are 2 boxes, Box A and Box B. They can enter text into Box A and Box B, then hit submit and the info they entered into these two boxes now becomes the value of custom field box_a and custom field box_b.

    How do I code the portion where they enter text into Box A and Box B and it becomes the values of box_a and box_b custom fields?
