I’m trying to find a way that customers/users can register a unique code (or multiple codes) of some sort that will be tied to their account (and that I’ll be able to find/retrieve afterwards) to act as a product registration.

In my particular case, it’s for a lab test in which a testing kit can be bought through the web site or gotten elsewhere as a boxed kit; which will contain a unique code to identify it that the buyer will need to add to their account once they’ve received it. They may add more than one as well (though I dont care if they have to do it one at a time.)

Ideally, this could be done both after someone ordered online (the kit was ordered and sent, they received it and already have a buyer account having done so and are logging in afterwards to enter the code) as well as during an alternative registration as part of the sign up (for those that got a kit elsewhere) and haven’t gone through setting up an account yet as such.

    i.e.

Joe orders a test kit from the web site, already has an account from his order and gets it a few days later. Comes back and logs in, registers the code.

Peter gets a kit from a health care provider, doesn’t have an account and registers his details and kit numbers at the same time.

Either way, a registered user has those kit numbers associated with their account – and I can find them somehow to give them their results afterwards based on those codes (I believe I have that part sorted out at least.)

I understand this is pretty niche, but would very much appreciate any thoughts on modules/approaches if any exist!

    Thanks.
