it’s a common set up
if you actually created a new database you shouldn’t get this error
a couple of options
drop all of the tables from the new database you created (I don’t think you made a new database)
if you are really using the same database you need to change the table_prefix in your wp-config.php to something different than your root install

So odd..I deleted and created 3 different databases with different db names. Is there any way to maybe trick and bypass this step…hoping it doesn’t overwrite my current db which it shouldn’t anyway b/c the config.php is configured for the new db…im not sure if the install is pointing to my main config.php file somehow?
