    Hi there.
I think the plugin is great.
Do you happen to know whether this simple function could also be inserted into pages or articles?
I would like to show not only the menu only for registered users, but also pages. Because if I just don’t show the menu, you can still look at the pages if you know the link. That is not so good.

Your plugin is just perfect because it is nice and simple and has no member management. I don’t need all these functions.
Your plugin is good because you can easily choose whether it should be displayed to unregistered or logged in users. It is easy.

Do you happen to know if there is such a lightweight plugin for pages and posts? Or do you happen to plan to expand your plugin for pages and posts.

All you really need is your simple structure (display mode) (see image: https://ps.w.org/nav-menu-roles/assets/screenshot-1.png?rev=1326688) via WebHook “add_action (‘ save_post ‘,’ … ‘); oder “add_action( ‘post_submitbox_misc_actions’,’..’)” install so that the settings are displayed directly in the publish block.
Then one would only have to indicate somewhere what should happen if the page is protected. It would be best if you can provide a forwarding link.
That would actually be a great addition, wouldn’t it?
Well. Actually I just wanted to ask if you might know such a small and simple plugin for pages and posts.
    That would be helpful.

Hi, sorry, but this is not and never will be a membership plugin. There are lots of plugins that already do this already. I used to always recommend https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/members/ for minimal content level controls. Not sure how it still holds up… looks like it may be under new management.

    Oh. No no.
    I think you misunderstood me.

I asked if you can imagine not only restricting your plugin to the menu, but also expanding it to pages and posts. It would be great if you could not only hide menu items, but also posts and pages. Or?
Your plugin is extremely good because it is not a “membership plugin”. I think your plugin is really good because it is not a membership plugin. So I don’t want your plugin to become a membership plugin. I want it to stay the way it is. 🙂
It is simple and small and does what it should.
That’s why I wanted to ask you. I don’t want to install another plugin, which also has so many functions that I don’t need all of them. Precisely because your structure is so simple, I could very well imagine that it also fits if you can also see it in the posts and pages.
Do you understand what I mean?

I would be very happy if you could also integrate your plugin, ie the “Display Mode” function in the “Post” Publish “box”.
So it would be possible to set the display and access for pages and posts and that would improve the possibilities.
I did some research and there is already a snippet of code.
    Have a look: https://www.pmg.com/blog/wordpress-how-to-adding-a-custom-checkbox-to-the-post-publish-box/

Perhaps if you click the link you will understand what I mean.
Their function oder Your Plugin built into pages and posts.
    That would be great.

I also took the trouble to create a picture.
    It could look like this.
    https://prnt.sc/rj33qt

    That would be nice, or?
It would be of great help and enrichment.

I’m glad you like the plugin! Don’t forget to leave a review. 😉

    >It is simple and small and does what it should.

That’s what I like about it too! And that’s also what helps keep maintenance manageable.

But, restricting posts/pages/CPTs by role is what I’d call membership functionality.. that’s why I would prefer to stay away from it. This is a free plugin that I can’t afford to invest a lot of time in. I’d propose we could pursue this as custom development work, but I feel like I’d only be reinventing the wheel.

Did you try the Members plugin? It used to be a simple role restriction plugin…. unfortunately it’s been so long since I looked at it that I’m not sure about how it works today.

I’m honest. I would even be happy to donate something financially. But probably we have very different ideas about what you want and what I could donate (20-40 €). 🙂
I think the idea is great and I have not yet found a plugin that offers this simple function.
Either they are large membership plugins with functions that I do not need or the implementation is rather complex and not so or the plugin has too few downloads or bad reviews. I also find your layout and simplicity much better. I could imagine your structure much more like the way you set it up. I just like it too. 🙂

I have of course already looked at the membership. And not only that. I’ve been searching and google for a solution for a long time. But I have not found an easy solution.
I actually just want a very simple plugin that works as in the photo. Simply that you can either display everything as normal or choose whether it is displayed to users who are not logged in or logged in. Even the roles wouldn’t be that important at first. But I think it’s great that your plugin can do that too. That’s why I thought I’d just ask you.

I myself would first have to learn how to create a plugin. Otherwise I might even try it myself. But I have too little experience and am afraid that the plugin will be unsafe. And a security hole or a hack on my website would be too sad.
That’s why I hoped that I might be able to motivate you with my idea and that you might expand the plugin.
It’s a shame that you can’t ask your users if this extension would make sense. I think so.
And as I said. There is hardly a plugin that offers this simple function.
There are hardly any plugins that can simply display a page or posts for registered or unregistered or normal users.
But I haven’t given up the search yet.
Most of them are now much too large and offer functions that I do not need.

Really, I am flattered that you like this plugin so much. But you are correct that 40eur is not sufficient to build out a custom plugin.

You’ve probably seen it, but here’s one more suggestion to try:
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/advanced-access-manager/

Feel free to take the source code and try to remix it in a way that suits you. I’d love to see what you come up with!
