    I’ve installed this plugin to prepare for a move to a different hosting provider (where we will have a new URL).

    A couple of test runs exporting and importing to WordPress instances running on my iMac and on a QNAP NAS box have worked perfectly.

    It did a much more complete job of the migration than I expected, but there are a few places where I have hard coded the old URL which will need to be changed manually.
    My WordPress site also references files on the old server outside the WordPress installation. Those files will have to be migrated manually – but that’s to be expected.

    The WordPress installation, all the plugins and all the users have transferred perfectly.
    JetPack recognised the test environment and put itself into development mode but when I do the migration for real I will have to make some other changes because of the new URL.
