AMP Astra Theme

We have issues getting AMP to work correctly with the Astra theme. When we select Transitional with the Astra theme (which is AMP compatible) active, it throws a critical error.
When we change to Reader and use a separate theme for AMP, it loads without a problem. How can we get AMP to work with the native Astra theme?
