I’m attempting to convert the home page of the linked site to AMP, and I’m running into issues.

I followed the instructions here: https://amp-wp.org/documentation/how-the-plugin-works/classic-templates/ and added the proper functions to the site. I also made sure to set “pages” as a supported template under the general settings, but I cannot seem to get the home page to convert to AMP (I also know to add ?amp to the url).

I’m wondering if I’m not calling the right template or file in the functions code? Right now, the front page is using a file called front-page.php.

In Reader mode, only singular templates are currently supported. That means AMP will only be served currently in Reader mode when a static front page is used, and the page.php template will be used per:

Nevertheless, after v1.5 is released we’ll be working on a new version of Reader mode which will support creating AMP templates for any template type.

Otherwise, the best way to serve AMP for non-singular templates is to use Transitional mode or Standard mode, which are always preferred over Reader mode. But this will depend to a degree on your theme having AMP support.
