• I’m hoping someone can help. I’m using AMPPS and worked on a site a while ago. Since then I had to reformat my computer. I thought I was doing a good thing and backed up the entire AMPPS folder, thinking I could just dump everything back on the computer in the same location after reformatting.

I’m able to see the database but I get a #1146 error when I click on any of the tables and it says they’re empty. I have access to the ib_logfiles,the ibdata1 file and all of the .ibd and .frm files, I just can’t figure out how to get it all working again.

I now know that exporting the database along with the AMPPS folder would have been a really good move and saved me all of this trouble but I can’t go back in time so I’m stuck with what I have.

I’d be very grateful for any help/suggestions on getting this running again. Thanks in advance!

  • I’m really sorry but without a copy of your old databases, you’re pretty much dead in the water. 🙁

FWIW now, most of your site’s content is stored in its database – not in any files. So when moving/duplicating a site, you really need a copy of that database.

That’s disappointing. I was hoping there was a way to pull it all back together. I have all of the files, I just didn’t do an export of the database before I reformatted. Lesson learned!

I hate that literally a couple of clicks could have prevented this – and the fact that all of the files are sitting in front of me and I can’t get the data from them.

I’ve seen some people that were using MAMP and some other services, and they were able to rebuild it but nothing specifically with AMPPS.

I was really hoping for a different answer but I appreciate the quick reply
