“An error occurred while updating UpdraftPlus…”

    I am unable to update the plugin to the latest version. When trying to update it via the “Updates” menu of the WordPress admin, I get the following error:

    he update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient.

    Enabling Maintenance mode…

    Updating Plugin UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore (1/1)
    Downloading update from https://updraftplus.com/?%5B…%5D
    Unpacking the update…
    Installing the latest version…
    Plugin update failed.
    An error occurred while updating UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore: The package could not be installed. The package contains no files.

    I receive the same error on multiple sites trying to update from version 2.16.43.1 to version 2.16.46.0.

    Please advise.
