    Hello Forminator Support Team,

    I hope you’re doing well. I’m reaching out regarding an issue with PayPal payments on our forms. Many customers have expressed interest in paying via PayPal, but some encounter the following error during checkout:

    “An error occurred while verifying the payment.”

    This seems inconsistent—while some transactions succeed, others fail with the above message. This is causing frustration for customers and potential lost sales.

    Details to assist troubleshooting:

    The issue occurs intermittently (no clear pattern).

    We’ve verified that affected customers have valid payment methods.

    No recent changes were made to the PayPal integration settings.

    Hi @moumen97,

    Sorry to know that you are experiencing this issue.

    Could you please share an export of the form with us? This will allow us to review the configuration in detail and better understand what might be causing the issue.

    Please share the export of the form using Google Drive and Pastebin.com. I hope the following guide comes in handy: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export

    Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Best Regards,
    Nebu John

    Additional context:

    • The issue persists across multiple customers (intermittent failures).
    • PayPal account is properly connected in Forminator (tested with successful transactions).
    • No recent plugin/theme updates before the issue arose.

    Hello @moumen97

    Thank you for sharing the form export, I couldn’t replicate this issue in my end, so I asked our forminator team to investigate further.

    It appears the issue is related to something on your site. Could you please follow these steps for further troubleshooting:

    1. Enable Debug mode in the form editor -> PayPal settings
    2. Monitor the form submission for a while and check the error logs if you find any issues please share the log here
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#debug-mode

    We will keep you posted if we find anything new.

    Kind Regards
    Amin

    Hello @wpmudev-support2 ,
    Thank you for your continued assistance. After enabling Debug Mode as suggested, I observed the following errors in the console when customers attempt to pay:

    Error 1:
    {
    "err": "Error: Expected an order id to be passed",
    "timestamp": "1744624978245",
    "referer": "www.paypal.com",
    "clientID": "AYgDeNGd2ShcaOKx3xydyZzIGKQNG-9qu-qi6WNHvnTAaAnOdVHEIjRJyveurQgFUZZCJlV9fLOd2SXi",
    "env": "production",
    "sdkVersion": "5.0.479"
    }
    Error 2:
    Uncaught Error: Expected an order id to be passed
    at buttons?env=production... (Full stack trace in console)
    Observations:
    The error suggests PayPal’s API is not receiving an expected Order ID during checkout.

    This happens intermittently—some transactions succeed, while others fail.

    The issue occurs in production mode (not sandbox).

    Next Steps:
    Could this be related to a conflict with another plugin or a misconfiguration in Forminator’s PayPal integration?

    Does the PayPal client ID (AYgDeNGd2...) need to be revalidated or updated?

    Are there known issues with PayPal SDK v5.0.479 in Forminator?

    Let me know if you need additional logs or testing. I’d be happy to provide more details.

    Hi @moumen97,

    Thank you for getting back to us with additional information.

    However, the issue appears specific to your website, as we were unable to replicate the issue on our end. Also, there aren’t any known issues in Formiantor with PayPal SDK v5.0.479.

    Could you please try the following and update us here so that we can diagnose the issue further?

    1) Try re-configuring PayPal integration in Forminator with new API keys.
    2) Try re-adding PAyPAl payment field in the form and see if that helps to resolve the issue.

    if none of the above helps,

    3) Please try a complete conflict test to ensure no other plugin or theme is conflicting and causing the issue.

    I hope the following guide comes in handy: https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#conflict-test

    Please update us here with the results.

    Best Regards,
    Nebu John
