    I’m running Wordfence Security and I am quite often getting a message “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with ww.wp.xz.cn or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to ww.wp.xz.cn. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-includes/update.php on line 123

    Didn’t find a solution at Wordfence support forum although there were some older commets that ww.wp.xz.cn site has a problem.

    Any ideas where to start with this issue?

    This typically means that openssl on your server is out of date, unless of course the server is actually offline.
