Hi, I get this message: An unknown error occurred
When trying to search for new plugins. It occurs on three different wp installations on different domains. It isn’t the plugins that are in conflict, I checked that. It isn’t a theme thing, checked that too.
Has anyone a solution to it?

    Just anything would be great!

I think I’ll go back to 2.8.6 when it didn’t happen

its happening to me too at my site Internet Marketing Affiliate Strategies
its probably WordPress servers side error, as on my other site yesterday it seemed fine.

sometimes i have to try installing the plugin 3-4 times and then it finally works.

    Hi,
I think it was a server error, my host said so any way. Now that they’ve fixed it it all seems to work again. Hope it does so for you as well!

I know this is 4 months later, but I am currently getting that error with a clean install as well as an older server and website that had been working fine. I get it when I search for themes. It may be the server as it’s been only about an hour or 2.

It just started working again, both servers/sites!
    Thank you wordpress team.

and I had an exact same issue last night. It’s working fine now. Something must have happened at the server side (000webhost.com)
