is there any way to anonymize IP?

Hello, maybe we could implement it, could you please let us know your use case? Is it for any regulation, any special requirement or how exactly would you like it to work? Thank you!
Hi Rowinson, thanks for the quicky reply!
You know in some cases for collect the user’s IP you need a permission and besides that, we don’t want to do it. (Collect the user’s IP for privacy reasons).
Thanks!
Ok, thank you. I’ve created a ticket to address this. We probably will add a checkbox to disable the collection of the IP address: https://github.com/rwngallego/perfecty-push-wp/issues/28
Hi Rowinson,
a way to anonymize IP is really essential. European DSGVO restricts collection of personal data massively by law. Website-owners are only allowed to store data, that is really needed for the purpose. In my understanding the users IP is not needed to send him notifications (what is done via Endpoint-URL), so storage of IPs should be disabled by default in my opinion.

StefanThanks guys for your feedback. We haven’t started implementing this because we were collecting more information about it, but now it’s the right time. We will not collect that information by default, but will be part of the optional user information the sites could collect in the future (IP address, OS, Browser, localisation, etc). It’s up to the website to enable it and to inform the users appropriately.
Hi Rowinson,
great news. Could you also implement an option to automatically delete unsubscribed users (not active) from the database?

That’s something different to what we’re discussing here, and I would like to understand it better, could you please create a new thread? Thank you!
Hi Rowinson,
here some notes, why the automatically (and maybe optional) deletion of unsubscribed users should be implemented: Delete user from database on unsubscribe.
