Another image on hover

    Hi,
    I am trying to figure out how would it be possible to have a custom image on hover.
    My client wants to have a specified icon on yellow background to cover the tile on hover/click. I tried many more or less wise approaches to wp-tiles css, but I can’t get it to work. Most reasonable thing to me was to set a background image on byline hover (which height I set to 100%), but it’s was most definitely wrong thinking as I got “Resource interpreted as Image but transferred with MIME type text/html” notfication.

    Is there any way to do something like that? To have a set image on hover? It doesn’t have be the easy way 🙂

    Thank you in advance. This is really a wonderful plugin and I hope there is a way so I wouldn’t have to resign from it. And the support is amazing, as I browsed though all of it here, wow.

    Hi @shrubberry,

    I think the way you were approaching this is probably the best: set a background image to tile bylines through CSS.

    What resource did the error you posted apply to? My first guess is that the URL to the image in the CSS is incorrect, so WP is serving a 404 page instead of the image (ie. text/html).

    If the tiles never change, you can simply hard code the hover image in your stylesheet, based on the post ID. Alternatively, if you want it to be flexible for the user, you could use a custom field and generate the css for the hover effect dynamically. But get it working statically first 🙂

    Wow, thanks! It was the issue of incorrect url to the image. I never thought that text/html comunicate was about 404. It works well now, along with background image styling and such.

    Thank you for your help. The plugin is wonderful.
