For one, I get the message “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page” when selecting the settings option at the plugin options.
Visit plugin option from Wp-admin menu -> settings -> AnsPress
AnsPress dont have widget position right now. you need to override AnsPress default theme index.php to use your theme layout. See other thread or FAQ for overriding theme.
Thank you for your swift feedback, impressive! I will try to follow up your suggestions.
Sorry, one more question. I read all the previous posts. To get the theme outline, you say:
1) I must create a folder anspress in my theme folder;
2) copy the index.php file to the as press folder.
3) remove while condition and place this:
<?php include ap_get_page_template(); ?>
I did 1 and 2, but I don’t understand what you mean with the last point, That’s probably my fault, because I’m not a programmer. Could you tell me exactly where to put the <?php include ap_get_page_template(); ?> code?
Thanks,
Reinoud
I think I fixed it myself… I searched for the word “theme” and changed the line.. with yours
I managed to fix the lay out. However, there are some more bugs:
– It’s not possible to add questions or answer them by random site visitors. It would be nice if people could use the forum after signing in with Facebook or linked in;
– there are some dead links on the page: in the right corner of the question overview, it says ” read on”, but this link doesn’t do anything.
– after clicking on a question it is possible to submit an answer in a new screen.Below the box where you can answer there is another box with “ask your question”. This box doesn’t work.
Would it be possible if I send you my admin password and that you take a brief look at my settings. Maybe you can make it work in 5 minutes, while it has taken me one day already π Or should I just be patient and wait for the update on which you are working (should be released in 2-3 weeks from now I think?)
Hello nerdaryan !
Your plugin is great! π
Can you put the same administrator’s rights to Author’s profile because moderator’s rolee is not complete to manage WP.
Thanks.
Dear Nerdaryan,
I’m sorry to bump in again, I know you are still developing the plug in. However, after trying a lot, I still cannot make it function properly and I still encounter difficulties with the lay out. Here’s a link to the page as it is right now:
http://rnuijten.synology.me/wordpress/?page_id=5085
– As you will see at first, there is a misplaced sidebar above the answers. I cannot move it (preferably to the right side of the page) or make it disappear altogether. There still seems to be an integration issue with the used theme template (I followed up your advice on creating the anspress folder, etc.);
– I cannot put the question form on the same place as the answer section. Ideally, I want the two on one single page;
– right now it is not possible for random visitors to use the question form. I know that you are working on this issue and that you will resolve it in the next update: when are you planning this update?
– finally: it would be ideal if visitors could log in with their Facebook or Linkedin profile. Is this something you are planning?
I know you are working on a free version and a pro version. Although the plugin still doesn’t work properly I clearly see the beautiful design and simplicity as strong assets. So I really hope you will continue to develop this plugin, if so, consider me as a future customer π
Kind regards,
Reinoud
