We have been using this plugin for years, but are suddenly having the issue where we people can’t sign up for our mailing list from our site.

I realized that on the MailChimp for WP page, there’s this error message:
    MailChimp returned the following error:
Forbidden. Request: GET https://us1.api.mailchimp.com/3.0/ Response: 403 Forbidden

When you follow the link above, it shows this message:
http://developer.mailchimp.com/documentation/mailchimp/guides/error-glossary/”,”title”:”API Key Missing”,”status”:401,”detail”:”Your request did not include an API key.”,”instance”:”caadda5a-24a8-43a9-a8b8-31bfb09e5a5e

And then under the MailChimp API settings, it says “Status: Not Connected,” even though there is a key there. I generated a new key on MailChimp and pasted that in, but still have the same error messages.

We are on wordpress version 4.9.6.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The 403 response means your hosting IP is blocked by the Akamai firewall that MailChimp is using.

This happens sometimes when you share your hosting IP with many other users if 1 of the other users did something to get the IP blacklisted.

    See: https://kb.mc4wp.com/solving-connectivity-issues/

    Basically your options are
    – ask your hosting provider to move you to another shared IP
    – ask your hosting provider to give you your own private IP (at a fee)
    – ask your hosting provider to route the MailChimp API requests over a proxy
    – change to another hosting provider
    – wait for the ban to be lifted

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let us know!

    Same issue here,

several websites using the plugin are suddenly not connected..

all websites are hosted in the same server

i wanted to test a change Ip solution and asked my webhost to give me another hosting IP but the result was that my website url was redirecting to another totally irrelevant website..

please provide a solution because this is getting messy
