Are you using any security, firewall or the caching plugins? From what you have written it looks like there is something standing in the way or interfering with the API connection. If so, please turn them off temporarily and check if the API status changed.
Please let us know about the results of the tests suggested above.

Since I am testing it on my local server, I don’t use any securities.
Is there any possibility that I can’t use this plugin because I am testing on local?

Looks good for me…
Can you check in other browser – maybe some browser plugin blocks requests for api status checking.
As we haven’t got any replies, I’m marking this topic as resolved for now.
