• 7.25 version of Job Manager.

I was cruising right along setting up the app form under app form management with employment application fields. I was at it for awhile, but it was going great. I had about 10 more fields to go. I realized I needed a couple more categories. I added them in the management area and then continued on editing my app form. I then checked off 3 categories for about 15 fields. Only some of them took when I clicked update. Then the fields that weren’t checked disappeared after I tried again. Now I cannot remove any nor change anything. The form seems to update, but it doesn’t stick. HELP – I don’t want to do all of that again? Can it be corrected? If not, do I have to lose it ALL? I poked around here, but only saw old postings. This is a brand new site with only the home page close to done, and the job manager stuff. The rest of the pages are just placeholders for now. FYI

Removing all categories allowed me to continue to create fields and modify the app form, but I would like to use categories!

No. I am still having an issue. It let me update once. I entered all of the remaining fields I needed and entered again. They are lost and now I cannot delete a field again. I can modify the type, but not remove it, and I cannot add new fields.

This might be a theme and or plugin conflict – one way to test for this is to follow this reference. This would be to disable all plugins except for JM and switch to a default WP theme like twenty sixteen. Clear browser and server cache and try again.

Several items to note on your set-up:

    – A form this long may cause you issues because of incomplete data as someone may bail on filling this out and or if they type in wrong data and the form does not authenticate and you have missing data.

    – You are requesting PI (Personally Identifiable Information) in the form of DL information and storing on a NON SECURE server and DB configuration. This is not a recommended practice for PI data. That kind of information is best stored on secure server and or external cloud source that has better protections. I realize this probably a test server your on now but this does not preclude the severity of my recommendation. As an additional note anytime your collecting resume data etc your client should have a posted Private Policy on the site that covers this and get an ack from the Applicant that they have read your policy….just sayin.

Thank you for your reply. Yes this is a very early WIP. It will be secured – I cannot apply https on this temporary site, etc., there will be a privacy policy, and an option to download the application and mail and/or fax for applicants that do not care for online at all. I am following the client’s wishes on the length, but they had already been warned, so I will again recommend paring it down. I will also be cleaning up some of the more personally identifiable info, anyway. I prefer the downloadable application and NO online form myself. I have run IT for several financial institutions. I get it. I had disabled most plugins. I will try a different theme and disabling all plugins. Thanks again.

I found that I had a job opening with the name of “driver” and a category with the name of “driver”. It was causing me trouble with my job listing links. They would list the category instead of the job description! It may have been the problem here as well. I deleted the job and re-created it with a different name and that straightened out the links. FYI Now if I could just get the email to work I would be all set. Other forms work, just not the job manager.

Did you ever get the email functionality to work ?
