switch to default theme and see if you have same problem
I can’t even get in to switch my themes though – there is no link or access to the design part of the site……
using ftp rename your theme in wp-content>>>themes just add _bak after the name this force default theme to open.
do you think? I’ll give it a go. Although I think it is something to do with the user permissions, which seem to have changed somehow…..
I just tried that and now the site isn’t going anywhere

The site open fine for me did you get your admin panel back
nope – I have my admin panel but the appearance, plugin and theme tabs are missing which is a real pain. What could be the problem do you think?
Thanks for your help on this…..
are using self hosted wordpress or wordpress.com
Did you setup this wordpress or someone else did and are you logged as admin.
I set it up and am the only one to have login access or admin access, which is why this is so odd and has never happened before
The only thing I can think of is there must some permission problem somewhere If you familiar database in usermeta table click on browse normally admin is id 1 and around table 10 capabilities you should have
a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;s:1:”1″;}
hey there – thanks for our help on this.
Could you specify where to find that code and what it should be/changed to….?
You need to check in database is not a code is value you should have so that when you login as admin you have full capabilities.
ok but what part of the database? what file do I look for? Do you think you could be a little more specific – it would be really helpful….
