    Hi,

    We are experiencing this error message on our website: Apple Pay is not available with Square – there was a problem with registering your store domain with Square/Apple Pay. View the Square logs to find out what caused the registration to fail.

    In our logs we get the following error:

    2025-01-16T10:07:54+00:00 Notice Error: Unable to verify domain lockco.co.uk – response = Array ( [errors] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [category] => INVALID_REQUEST_ERROR [code] => BAD_REQUEST [detail] => Invalid domain lockco.co.uk: expected GET https://lockco.co.uk/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association to return 9098 bytes but instead returned 9122. [field] => domain_name ) ) )

    We have attempted to verify the domain within the Square dashboard but the file provided by Square and generated file by the plugin seem to be different: https://lockco.co.uk/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.

    Are you able to let me know what the next troubleshooting steps would be? We are running the version 4.6.1

  • Hi @jacobpoddigital,

    The error message indicates that the required Apple verification file is missing or not uploaded correctly to your domain. This file is crucial for Apple Pay to work properly on your website.

    To fix the issue, you can first try reinstalling the plugin, as this might automatically upload the file to your domain. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, you can manually download the required file from this link: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/payment-methods/pmd-registration?dashboard-or-api=dashboard#verify-domain-with-apple. Once downloaded, upload the file to the .well-known directory located in the root of your domain (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association).

    If you are unsure how to upload the file or don’t have access to your server, please reach out to your hosting provider for assistance.

    I hope this helps, let us know if you have any more questions.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your response. I have downloaded the file from the link that you provided. How long will it take to verify if the file is present within your plugin? It has been uploaded now.

    Hello jacobpoddigital,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Could you share a screenshot of the logs from WooCommerce > System Status > Logs?
    I want to review the logs for any clues into what happened at the backend.

    Also, please use the file provided by the WooCommerce Square plugin to upload at /.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association directory.

    Once I have reviewed the logs, I will be in a better position to assist you further. 🙂

    Best regards.
