    Hi all,

I activate Google Pay and Apple Pay on my website and every time a client buys with Apple Pay or Google Pay, the order fails and the following error messages appears :

Sorry, you cannot access this resource. This is usually due to a problem with your WordPress.com connection, which we manage via the Jetpack package.
Learn more about it at: https://woocommerce.com/document/woopayments/our-policies/connection/

=> This message is displayed to user and it appears on my order status information.

I have attached the images of the payment settings below:

The WooCommerce System Status Report can be found here:

Please also note that I deleted my WordPress.com account recently as I have no idea why it was created (don’t know if it is related) and I never installed Jetpack plugin on my website.

    Thanks for your help !

  • Hi @koax

Thanks for providing detailed description about what you’re experiencing.

It sounds like the connection issue might be due to that deleted WordPress.com account since it’s tied to the payment setup for Google Pay and Apple Pay through WooPayments. Even without Jetpack installed, WooPayments needs a WordPress.com account to work properly.

Here’s what I could suggest: Create a new WordPress.com account then reconnect WooCommerce Payments using the new account details. This should re-establish the necessary connection. If you need help with the steps, check out this guide: https://woocommerce.com/document/woopayments/startup-guide/

After setting up the new account and connecting, if you’re still seeing issues, please let us know.

    Hello @reynierc,

Thanks for the reply. Actually I can’t reconnect the Woopayment plugin. I’ve tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin and I get this error message in the setup wizard “Failed to retrieve account session. Please try again later.”

After some research, it seems that the only way is to install Jetpack, log in, log out and delete Jetpack.

It’s a very sad way to change your account 🙁

It also makes me wonder: why is creating a wordpress.com account mandatory to activate Apple and Google Pay?

I give up and ask for the wordpress.com account to be restored. I’ll see later how I’ll handle this differently.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
Adding more information about this topic in case someone wonders what happens if they delete their account.
WooPayment no longer works, so no Woopayment methods ares available on my website.

    Too bad 🙁
