I want to integrate / generate an application password, I have unchecked the “Disable Application Password” in the options of the Wordfence Settings, but when I do that, the section of Applcation Password under User profile disappears entirely.

    Any help is much appreciated,
    Thanks,

Hi @alecsleeky, thanks for dropping us a message about this.

I’ve just run a test unchecking the “Disable Application Password” checkbox in Wordfence > All Options and hitting SAVE CHANGES and the section appears as intended. When re-checking the box, the section on the Profile page remains but states that Wordfence has disabled it.

Some of our customers have asked for a CSS snippet to hide this section altogether, even when disabled, and I’m wondering whether any other plugins you have installed may be adding this kind of behavior. Firstly, do you still experience the same situation when logging in with another browser, or an incognito/private browser window? If so, does it continue when you disable all plugins except for Wordfence?

    Thanks,

    Peter.

For anyone else experiencing this issue, for me the problem was actually the iThemes Security plugin also running. I had the same issue, when I toggled the WordFence checkbox off for “Disable Application Password”, the entire Applications Password block would disappear. I disabled all plugins until I discovered the ithemes plugin was the culprit. Hope that helps someone else troubleshooting this.
