I am currently using Apply with Gravity Forms. However, I was reading about the Applications plugin which might be better. Are these mutually exclusive? If I have one, do I need the other?

It was a bit tricky for me to get Gravity Forms set up correctly with the correct notifications, but I like the functionality of the Applications plugin that allows employers to see a list of applications in their dashboard, etc.

Applications doesn’t work with Gravity Form apply. Applications has its own form built in – so you can deactivate the gravity one if you use it.

Thanks for the prompt response. I’ll try it.

I activated the Applications plugin and deactivated the Apply with Gravity Forms plugin. However, it seems that the email being sent to the recruiter is being marked as spam (by yahoo at least). See Yahoo’s error message below. I am using PHPmail add-in so not sure if I have a setting wrong there, but everything was being sent fine before using gravity forms. When I put my domain email ([email protected]) as the candidate’s email address, the email goes through fine. Any suggestions? Anyone else have this issue?

Also, when I log in as the recruiter and view the applications, I am getting Chinese characters on the right side where, for example, you click on the resume link.

    Hello

A candidate (Ben Candidate) has submitted their application for the position “Programmer”.

    Hi,

The ‘chinese’ is due to an outdated theme. Updated jobify if thats what you are using.

Please use https://wpjobmanager.com/support/ for support with this addon so I can suggest some fixes for the spam issue.

    Thanks

Sorry, forget my issue about spam. It’s a yahoo issue where these two accounts are linked. yahoo to yahoo issue. I used a gmail candidate email and it went through fine.

I will try updating the theme. Thanks!!!

Ok, anyone out there know how to update the jobify theme? I can’t find any documentation and don’t see anything in admin.

Ok, figure out the update. I am on 1.8.2.2 but I still get the “chinese” characters.

    Hey

Have you posted on Jobify forum? And tried clearing cache? “chinese” characters is just an outdated icon font, which I’m sure they patched already. If you switch to twenty twelve theme you’ll see the icons work as intended without jobify.

Clearing the cache fixed the “chinese” characters. Thanks!
