Sorry to open a post for something that I might be the only one experiencing, but my “apply now” action, while it shows alerts for not filled mandatory fields, it doesn’t act when the module is all filled.
I’m also inserting [job_title] into the application form template’s header (by adding it in the “visualization customization”) but it’s not recognised.

The problem with Apply NOW you are experiencing has to do with setup.

Something is not quite configured right and that’s why your getting that error message. It’s a Filter that checks that the forms are completed properly.

In essence their is a mismatch between what your asking for in the forms back-end and the data you are inputting on the front-end.

As for the Short Code – The only places those work are within the Job Manager Template area of the Admin and not on any page or post as I assume you mean “visualization customization” to be a page or post visual editor ?

    Hope this help.

If it’s a configuration problem, can you tell me what I should do? I don’t want to uninstall and reinstall…

Send an email to support AT wp-jobmanager.com and set up a temp admin acces to your system and I can take a quick look and offer suggestion.

I took a look at your site and you have quite a bit going on there.

I am going to suggest you upload a copy of the Twenty Fifteen (Default) WP Theme and try it with that.

If it works it’s a Theme conflict. You might also have another plugin that’s causing an issue too.

Much the back end of Jm was not looking correct (it’s not the language) but some of the formatting looks to be possible javascript issues and that’s usually a plugin or theme.

There’s no need for this test. It already happened before with another theme (and yes, the theme was causing conflict). It’s doom fate that I cannot use this plugin. 🙁

I know that many folk like the themes on TF but you can often do much better with Theme Framework similar to Genesis . They are by no means the only ones, iThemes and woothemes are other well respected frameworks. They are trusted by the majority of the wordpress developer community and well supported.

While many of the TF themes look nice, they are often not coded or kept up to date with WP standards. Many contain so much bloat that to the untrained, may cause SEO to suffer and maintenance and updates are usually issues too.

Apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Perhaps you can contact the theme builder and we can see where the conflict lies ?

No incovenience my friend, today I actually tried other job plugins and now I’m back with JobManager because it’s just better, intuitive, simple, and right what I need.
So, let’s try hard to solve this problem. I know my theme causes some trouble because it is not really following WP standards (for instance, I had this other problem, when we disabled all Javascript and CSS that Globo is forcing upon all administration pages) but JobM is also a simple plugin so I don’t see why we cannot make it work.

Ok, so that confirms my suspicion as well that it’s a Javascript conflict with the theme.

I am not a js expert, so I will have to consult with another dev on this. Also wondering if postmans mods have created issues with JM unintentionally ?

Can you comment out the changes he had you make to functions.php and disable his plugin to see if that changes anything ? That give us a better reference point.

I have disabled Postman and its functions but the “apply” button still works only for alerts and not for sending out the form.

Hi you two 🙂 Postman doesn’t load any Javascript on the front-end. Only on its own admin pages.

If your still getting alerts, you need to re-check how you have the application form set up vs what your submitting?.

Might I suggest a very simple form first…just the default settings.

View this template and copy this – use only (2) Mandatory fields to start so we can narrow down the issue.

If you can successfully get this app to submit, then start adding in your fields one at a time and re-test until you get back to where you were at.

You probably create a few fake jobs and names to post from and maybe use a gmail submit email so your not spamming….also JM looks for duplictae job postings/submissions.

Hi there Postman appreciate the clarification. Was not too certain about your commenting on the functions.php that’s why I commented “unintentional” 🙂

Just incase…. seems that theme looks pretty neat but does have some issues for sure .

    Jason Hendriks

    (@jasonhendriks)

Ya, the theme’s coders were pretty lazy about what they did. My plugin’s admin is jQuery-heavy and without the patch I wrote for the theme it all falls apart when that theme is activated.

They responded to my first email to them about fixing the theme and I haven’t heard back since.

Postman is just the best SMTP plugin ever, my theme is definitively the one causing trouble. However, I have a basic application form, but I will try the step-by-step method you suggest… will let you know later today.

Thomas, I have tried to disable all mandatory field and the result is that “apply” doesn’t work. I wonder why if javascripts works when checking mandatory fields not filled, then why doesn’t for the “send” action?
