• Greetings,

I’ve been wondering if this has been asked before. I want to archive my pages – not posts on an archives page or widget. None of what I’m seeing seems to ask that particular question.

I prefer using individual pages for my articles because, frankly, pages look much better than posts ( more flexible), layout-wise. More of a magazine aesthetic.

I do have my PAGES going out as RSS feeds, so posts or pages don’t matter in that respect. I have searched for plugin for a PAGE archive rather than a POST archive and can’t find any.

So, my problem is how do I make PAGES no longer listed on the menu accessible to visitors? Do search engines find pages that have been removed from the menu but are still active or not deleted or trash canned?

One alternative I thought of was to convert old PAGES into POSTS once taken off the Main Menu through the page/post converter plugin. Then they would be automatically entered into the POSTS’ Archives or Widget, etc.? That’s the only way I can think of to archive PAGES instead of POSTS.

    The site’s URL:
    http://themetamodern.com/

    Thank you for your consideration,

    Eric

This is entirely dependent upon the theme you are using. Other themes may give you the look you want with posts instead of pages.

    Use a custom menu.

    Yes, generally.
