Clicking on my “About” and “Archive” links, I get to a 404. The site is directed to the “\about” and “\archive” locations, respectively, and I am unsure how to redirect them.

My first thought was to write a php script for the “Archives” section to pull together the archives page, as well as a script for the “About” page to pull up the actual Page I wrote in the Dashboard, but I have no idea where to begin or if it would even be necessary. Am I just missing a command somewhere, or do I need to build these scripts from the ground up?

Don’t try to reinvent the wheel…
    1. Fix your site – it has a DB error.
    2. Don’t ask layout/theme related questions without telling WHICH theme is there
    3. Always go and read the theme author’s site/forum before coming here

Well, found the issue I was looking for. Turned out to be related to Permalink structure, more than anything else. Seems like an odd thing, considering the structure could change theme to theme, depending on the author’s preference. Something to know I guess.

As far as “1. Fix your site – it has a DB error.” goes, boy howdy is that helpful! Guess I’ll be hitting that DB, because that’s issue is all kinds of, er, obvious. Yeah…
