    Hi,

Please provide a way to replicate the issue.

    Thanks! 🙂

Please re-read my initial post. Trying to replicate the issue is not relevant. You would need to be using SiteImprove.

The point is, there needs to be a way to add ARIA attributes to the generated GTranslate HTML container, and there is not, but apparently (based on what is discussed in the linked thread) the older version used to have a way to do this.

Looks like I wouldn’t be able to provide you specific instructions.

If you need to alter the HTML code in any way you can modify GTranslate files or alter the HTML attributes via additional javascript code in your theme to add the necessary attributes.

    Thanks! 🙂

Based on your response to the previous thread I linked to, it looks like the HTML generated by the plugin in used to contain the ARIA attribute. Can you explain why it would have been removed? (Or am I misinterpreting that thread?)

Could you consider adding hooks to the plugin so I wouldn’t need to modify the plugin code directly? I can investigate adding the ARIA attributes in the DOM via JavaScript but I’m not sure if that will pass the accessibility test or if it needs to be in the initial HTML. Having a filter that would allow modification of the initial HTML output of the plugin would be a preferable option.

The aria-label attribute should still be there for <select> tag.

If you can formulate what exactly you want to have I can try to help you.

Feel free to provide the HTML code you currently have and the code you would like to have instead.

    Thanks! 🙂

Ah… I apologize. It is there. I’m not sure what is going on with SiteImprove — or what my mental lapse was before now. Please disregard!
