In the WordPress Reading settings, I have “Summary” selected for articles, but my blog page is still showing the complete post. Am I missing something?

Yes, I’m hoping I get a solution. I like this theme, but I very much need the functionality of viewing post summaries. Hope there’s an answer!

The Full Text/Summary option on the Reading settings page is for articles in an RSS feed. I’m guessing that you are looking for excerpts on your category and archive pages.

A plugin like Content Views is a way to get what you want here.

Thanks. I was hoping the theme itself could do the trick, but the Content Views plug-in provided a solid solution.

    Hey @dbeedle, @keefyboy,

In WordPress, you can display only a part of the post text using the native “more” tag – please see this guide for detailed information. You can insert the “more” tag in front of the content to display no content on the blog page as well. Note that this feature is theme-independent, thus can be used on any other WP theme.

Thank you @cstokley for getting involved!

That’s just what I needed, I’ve never used this function before, thanks very much Andrii
