ASE loading tracking scripts for Fotorama

Hi, I noticed that ASE is loading tracking scripts for Fotorama. I’m guessing this is the script you use for the photo gallery. However this adds 4 additional HTTP requests to the site load and unfortunately, for my customer in Australia the site load is affected by these tracking scripts.

For website visitors in Australia, they have to wait for the initial tracking script to initialize from Seattle, WA, and then the others from yandex.ru in Russia. See items 35-38 here – http://www.webpagetest.org/result/150109_45_8B1/1/details/

How can I disable the tracking script, or disable galleries completely? Thanks

If you are on the latest version of ASE, this shouldn’t be an issue. Are you on 1.4? The guys at Fotorama snuck those tracking scripts in on us.

Fotorama snuck this in without saying anything, we’ve already removed it back in November.

Hi Michael and Nick. I’m not suggesting that ASE is loading the tracking scripts surreptitiously, I suspected that they were being loaded by a script you use in the plugin which you have now confirmed.

Yes I’m on v1.4 of ASE and the tracking script is still being loaded. Can you please tell me how I can disable galleries? Thank you

Can you clear your cache and check again? This is NOT loading in 1.4. I’ve checked and have already verified this. To answer your question, there’s no way to “deactivate” the galleries.

Also, I just manually removed teh code responsible for this. We were previously relying on a window.blockFotorama but doesn’t seem to reliably fire. But I just cut the head off the snake so there shoudl be no more issues at all.
