I am building a new website and I new in “this business” 🙂 Using the As I am building quite a lot of photopresentations with Nextgen Gallery, the slideshow option is great! However when I click on a thumbnail I should like to see the complete original photo on my screen. This is not happening; I see a big photo but there is not a good aspect ratio. What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

As I did not receive any answer I have been searching and trying why the aspect ratio is changed when I click on photo (not the diashow).
It appeared only by uploading pictures with more then appr. 4000 pixels width. By making the pictures no larger then 3500 pixels, the problem does not exist anymore.

@rrvdbeek – I’m glad to read you found a work-around for the issue you were seeing, but you might still consider images of even smaller long-side dimensions.

It will help the load speed of larger galleries as well as reduce the possibility of readers at your site with “smaller” screens from experiencing the same effects you were seeing.

Personally I like going with images optimized at 960px on their longest side but that may not necessarily be suitable for your tastes or design.
