I have been asked to review an issue with this error by a client for a site that I did not develop. Since I don’t have the development history in front of me, I may have to ask questions to answer any that you may have in order to resolve this issue. My first question is this: Does Stream have an error log or similar function that can be used to determine why “There was a problem verifying your site with Stream. Please try again later.” occurs?

  • Hi Jason,

In August we launched Stream 3, and announced (on our website, to our email list, on twitter, and in a WordPress admin Dashboard notice) that we were closing down our cloud service, opting instead to store records in the local database.

Of course, we did allow for a transition period of 6 weeks, to give people opportunity to update Stream and migrate their records from the cloud.

Those 6 weeks have now passed, and we have turned off the cloud. That’s why you’re getting this error.

The solution is simply to update Stream to the latest version. Unfortunately, because this was not done sooner, your client will lose their record history.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Luke, thanks for the fast answer. This is great information, and I wish my predecessor had shared this. You guys are great and have been a huge help.

    Shucks. You’re welcome.
