    Hello,

I have a website where I’m using WP’s internal gallery. Each image in the gallery links to the attachment page (larger version of the image opens). I need it to work like this. If I set “Redirect attachment URLs to the attachment itself?” to Yes, the images open directly, which I don’t want, so I set it to No. Problem is (as you’ve stated in your articles) these attachments get indexed, which I don’t want. Is there a way to keep this setting to “No” but somehow not have these links indexed?

    Thank you,
    Marin

  • Unfortunately, this won’t be possible as when you enable the media (attachment) redirects, it is expected to open the media files directly to your browser and not to open the image in a lightbox or just a larger version without leaving the site.
