I just updated to 1.0.2 with an option to add mute=”1″ to the shortcode that will mute the audio when the video loads.

You mean with regular embeddable videos from YouTube or Vimeo?

The mute functionality only works when using the YouTube Javascript API so you’ll need a plugin like this one.
