• Hi, I’ve got a WordPress based website where I link to audio files stored on Backblaze B2. I’m using audio blocks in the Gutenberg editor and accessing the site via Safari.

It seems that each time I open a post for editing, Safari is preloading/fetching the audio files from the server. When doing lots of updates and edits this chews through the 1GB daily bandwidth cap very quickly. (The site itself doesn’t attract heavy traffic, and the posts with audio are private, requiring an account to access, so I’m pretty sure this is why we occasionally hit the bandwidth cap.)

Is there a setting in WordPress to disable preloading in the editor? Is this behaviour the same in all browsers?
