    Is there anyway to have the Guest Author link open in a new tab/window? I have an “WP External Links” installed and that does the job for links within a blog, but for some reason it does not work on metadata author.

    It should work. A link is a link 🙂
    Send a sample post where it doesn’t work and we’ll have a look.
