I have finally finished my website. It was very nice to work with the blocksy theme. Now the website is finished and is live I have discovered something that I can not change. I have set all the pages on private and did the same for the posts. For some reason Google has indexed my website and the following link is showing in the search results when searching for “arcthinkers” -> author/admin/.

I would like that this link is not visible/accessible for people. What am I missing?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @arcthinkers

These are “special” pages generated by WordPress itself and are there no matter which theme is used.

The only way to control those would be to use external software, such as an SEO plugin, or restricting access to these pages via the robots.txt file. Many SEO plugins should have an option to not index various archives, so you may want to look into that if you prefer a no frills experience.

    Hope this clears things up!

    Thanks.

Hi @cteduard, thanks for your fast reply!

Do you by any chance know how I could do this using the G site kit? Search console is connected.

    Thank you,

I found out that “hello-world” is also live.. but when I search for other websites what are also made in WordPress they give an 404 code.

    Hello @arcthinkers

I’m really sorry, but we cannot help with these things as these are out of our control completely and they are not our products. Maybe try posting this question to the Site Kit plugin’s forums?

    Thank you for understanding. 🙂
