Hi there!
You seem a bit stressed out π I need some more details in order to help:
… my client has added new posts and linked then to the same author …
How did your client do this?
… its also not a caching issue.
How do you know it’s not a caching issue?
I’m asking these questions because, well, I can’t access your site to check for myself. If there’s anything else you think might be worth mentioning, please share.
Yeah i am a little π … thanks for replying so quickly – do you perhaps have an email address that i can send wordpress login details to? Maybe easiest – i have chromes “cache killer” extension installed and ive tried it on other pages and still the same thing

We theme/plugin developers are not really allowed to ask people for access credentials here (and for good reasons) so let’s try out a few things first, alright? π
When I mentioned the cache thing, I was thinking more like caching plugins such as WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache. I don’t think the problem is related to caching either but it’s best to be sure.
Anyways, I’m guessing you guys are assigning authors the usual way (via Post Edit screen) so I’m going to try to reproduce the problem here and get back to you with the results.
No problem – i understand … okay so here is how ita setup. The theme has the ability to create new widget areas, so i have setup specific widget areas for each post author. I have then loaded the widget for popular posts to that widget area and edited my settings accordingly. The authors are setup under users and are then selected from a dropdown when a post is made (i added code in the backend so that the users ID displays on the users page – which is the ID i use for the widget settings).
I then created a page for my author and in that page i choose the widget area i want to display.
So whats happening is that its showing only one post for the author and not two … if you go to thehashtag.us/about-us/ you will see the list of authors – and in the right sidebar of each youll see some are working just fine. But every new post we add, in the same way as the working ones, wont show
Hope that clarifies things a bit for you?
Was just thinking … do you think its possible that the 10 posts default for amount shown is running accross all the instances of the plugin for the author posts and not just for one individually? And so its not showing any posts after 10 are loaded?
Ah, yes, it seems I got a bit carried away and forgot to test the “add a new post and it doesn’t show up” part. So just now I went and added a new post, assigned it to the “Editor” user, visited the new post, and then checked the widget again:

So, have these new posts been viewed / visited at least once?

Nope, each instance runs its own query:

its working!! no they weren’t viewed! I just assumed my client was checking them after he made them, YAY!! thank you!! π π π
No problem, I knew it had to be something simple π
Thanks SOO much for getting back to me so quickly, much appreciated π
