But, here’s the information copied from that page:
Can I use postie to check a gmail account?
Yes. You can use either pop3-ssl or imap-ssl with a gmail account. Before attempting to use with postie, make sure that you enable pop or imap in your gmail preferences.
Pop3 settings:
- protocol – pop3-ssl
- server – pop.gmail.com
- port – 995
- userid – your username (e.g. if your e-mail address is [email protected], this would be just foo)
- password – your password
IMAP settings:
- protocol – imap-ssl
- server – imap.gmail.com
- port – 993
- userid – your username (e.g. if your e-mail address is [email protected], this would be just foo)
- password – your password
Hi, I’m not sure this is what i’m after. I need to add the gmail account to the Authorized Addresses. My gmail account is not the account Postie is checking, i want to send an email from my gmail account to the Postie mail server so it shows in the blog. It works fine with my work email but not gmail. I have tried changing the settings in gmail as per the article, non of the Pop3 or IMAP setting are shown in my preferences.
If the only choice is pop then you are missing the php imap extension.
For allowing posts from different email addresses either create WordPress accounts for those email addresses and assign them the correct permissions to match the “Roles That Can Post” setting.
Or add every email that is allowed to post to “Authorized Addresses”
