Authorship issues with 3.8

    I am currently experiencing problems with authorship on admin post edit screens with WP v3.8. For admin/editor users, the drop down list of potential authors is not displaying the correct current author — instead, it is defaulting to the last author in the list. This becomes a really big problem when updating/publishing posts, as it reassigns the post author to the last author in the list.

    Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

    If not, I will assume it is plugin-related…

    Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all other plugins deactivated?

    The problem was due to using get_posts() in a meta box on the edit page. The mystery is over, and the denouement of this story was rather boring. My apologies.
