hi, since last upgrade smooth height setting seems to have a problem, appearantly the next slide height is computed early and distorts the block below the block where meta-slider is in and creates jumpy behaviour, you can see it on the front page of the link above
also auto height is eventually not working as before, i can still empty the height in slider settings, but in presets not, but there I can set auto which then does not appear in new slideshow
    basic settings

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @hmich

Thanks for using MetaSlider. Can you confirm this is a new problem in 3.99.0 by rolling back to the previous version, please? You can use a plugin like this: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-rollback/

Is the problem solved if you go back to using the previous version of MetaSlider?

yes I am sure, this problem wasn’t there before upgrade i renew slideshows every 2-3 days and quite picky observing after each change

    thanks

Thanks @hmich. As part of the process to accurately debug this, can you rollback, please?

It’s possible that something else changed on your website in the last few days.

i understand, there wasn’t any change what could cause the erratic behavior, if you could provided a link to download the former version I can check it, but installing a full access to all my settings plugin I am not very pleased with,

Hi @hmich. You can download the previous version here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/ml-slider/advanced/

We’ve not had any more reports of this issue and version 3.99.0 was out for over 5 weeks, so we’ll need to see if this issue is unique to your site, and 3.99.0 was the cause.

well, good I saw it before doing acrobacy šŸ˜„, your new Version from yesterday has the same problem , you can easy reproduce it in your preview tab, disable the crop functions, set three or more portrait format with different heights, smooth height and watch it jumping

other settings i use, any width 700 – 1280, auto height, no controls, caption enabled , slide 6kmsec trans 1600,no css, autoplay

@hmich Thanks for using MetaSlider. Can you share a link to a slideshow where we can check this, please? I have a test with these details but can’t see the issue yet:

    • Image Crop: Disabled
    • Three images in portrait format with different heights

ok, its deactivated on the site but here’s the Link to see clearly from your preview option, the white strip below is exactly showing what’s happening, it’s just transparent on site

    Hi @hmich

is possible for you to enable the slideshow in your site? Perhaps in a test page if you don’t want it in homepage. That way we can take a look and see what’s going on.

Thanks! Definitely the slideshow height behaves oddly. By chance do you have any type of JS or CSS customization in your site that may affect the slideshow?

If you have a staging site, I suggest to:

    1. Test under a different WordPress theme just to check if there could be a conflict with your current theme.
    2. Deactivate (NOT uninstall) all the plugins except MetaSlider to look for any potential plugin conflict.

    Regards

    Thread Starter hmich

    (@hmich)

no conflict and it worked fine, actually I can not say exactly with which version it started, but maybe since two weeks ago, since the defect is still there it shouldn’t really matter, any other problems from my side you can discard since the problem appears clearly in your plugin’s preview tab

you should be able too reproduce the problem as easy as I can, take any picture with 2048px wide (is what my images are), crop into heights with different values, save some and add each of them to a new slideshow width auto height and smooth height enabled then watch it happen

    Hi @hmich,
sorry, I’m not able to reproduce in my end even using big images. In my test the smooth height works fine. We ask for the most possible details in order to reproduce in our end. Likely this will require a Pro membership to allow us to login in your site and debug.

May you elaborate what do you mean by “width auto height”? Are you typing ‘auto’ word in the Width or Height settings?

the img width doesn’t really matter, but fyi big images would be something beyond 6k px wide ,😁, here how t reproduce it step-by-step

take any img, to stay coherent with my case, 2048 which is the usual standard width on social media

crop 3 copies to different heights, si let’s say the ori is 1360, make one with 1200, another with 1100 and another 900

add all for as you call it slide to new slide show with the following settings for my case:

    width 1050

    height empty or auto

    100% width off

    transition slide

    delay 6000

    speed 1600

    direction horizontal

    fade in on

    center align on

    auto play on

    smooth height

    order random

    print css on

    print js on

    no conflict mode on

any option not explicitly defined is either off, none or disabled

save it, watch it hopping šŸ˜‚

ps: export slide show settings option would be helpful for problem solving

i cant see what any site styles or layout would have to do because your preview running isolated show the effect clearly

    (@htmgarcia)

    Hi @hmich

If you set the width and height using only numeric values (not ‘%’, ‘auto’, or left empty), does it solve the problem?

    Regards
