Auto-reply emails show html tags

I’ve enabled the user auto reply (with the default message ‘Hello, Thank you for registering with us.’), I tested it by registering a user, but I’ve received an auto-reply with html tags. I tried to test it again, this time I’ve configured the auto-reply settings and message. The email still shows html tags in the message (lots of <p>,<br> and tags).
