Automatic Blacklisting
-
I have what I think is a good idea for the plugin – automatic blacklisting.
On several of my sites, I get hammered with bots coming from particular IP ranges. Unless I manually blacklist, they keep hitting the site dozens of times a day. Eventually, I get P.O.’d and blacklist them. But then, they switch to different I.P.s and the game starts again.
I think it would be a great thing for AIO to have an automatic blacklisting feature. If Login Lockdown and/or other features stop a hacker/bot, and certain user defined criteria is met (like X # of attempts in 12 hours), he/she/it gets moved over to the blacklist automatically!
I would think this is relatively simple to code, and I know it would save me a tremendous amount of time and aggravation – not to mention bandwidth. I’m pretty sure it would do the same for others.
TX for all that you, and Happy New Year to all.
